Grades 6th-8th School Counselor

About Me:
Hello everyone! This is my 10th year here at East Robertson as a School Counselor. Previously, I worked at a Child Advocacy Center, working with children and teens who were victims of child abuse, and at an in-home counseling agency servicing teens by providing counseling to them. I also have been a teacher's aide in another middle school's self-contained classroom and in an alternative school's behavioral classroom.  I live in Gallatin with my wife, Monica. In my free time, I enjoy doing many things such as being outdoors, hiking/camping/kayaking, and watching sports, particularly St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Tennessee Vols Football. I also enjoy woodworking and building things.

What Do I Hope to Accomplish as a School Counselor?
My role as a school counselor includes many things, but mainly I am here to help students be the best students that they can be. There are 3 major areas in students' lives where I can help: academic, social, and emotional.
As a school counselor, I want to empower students to be successful while in school so they can become successful and productive citizens in their communities after leaving us at East.

How Do Students Make an Appointment to see Coach Brown?
Most of the time, students do not need to make an appointment to see me. Just stop by and see me before/after a class or during lunch. If I am not in my office, I have green cards by my office door that you can use to write on to tell me that you need to see me. There is a plastic box on my door that you can put the card in and I will call you to the office as soon as I can.
